Tree Planting at The Children's Forest (Leasowe Farm) - 18 and 19 February 2023
Come along to these two community planting days in the Children's Forest at Leasowe Farm this half term!
Taking place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February, it's a great opportunity for the whole family to come along and help plant trees, as well as help to maintain the Forest.
Please remember to wrap up warm as you'll be outside with no shelter. Feel free to bring gloves and a wheelbarrow if you have one, spades will be provided.
If driving, please park alongside the track leading down to the Canalside Community Farm (leaving the carpark at the end free for Canalside members). One of the team will meet you at 1pm and you will walk to the Children's Forest together.
Please email childrensforest@arccic.co.uk to let the team know you are attending, so they can plan for numbers of attendees and give you directions if you have not been before.
CALL OUT FOR CARDBOARD!!
If you have any large pieces of cardboard (e.g from Amazon deliveries or other boxes) please bring them along.
In addition to planting the trees, you'll be mulching them with a layer of cardboard - which breaks down over time - topped up with woodchip to keep the moisture in and help suppress weeds. This helped many of the trees survive last spring and summer's hot spells of weather.
Dates: Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February from 1pm - 4pm.
